Hey friend, I hear one of the biggest years of your life is on deck. If your senior year was human, it would laugh, cry, question, celebrate and then take a big sigh of relief. It’s true. This year is going to be filled with emotion, planning and checking all the things off your list. With that in mind, it’s a great idea to have your senior pictures taken this summer.

If you (or your mama) are worried about jumping the gun on senior pics, I have news for you. It’s 100% NOT too soon. You should have your senior pictures taken this summer and I’m about to give you five good reasons why.

1. Check that first box. As we discussed at the beginning of this post, you’re about to get nailed with a to-do list longer than the restroom line at Coachella. Let’s get the first item checked off that list now. Go ahead, have your senior pictures taken this summer. You will be so glad you did when the school year starts and time is slipping away.
2. Take advantage of the weather. You know what happens when school starts. The weather goes from gorgeous to gray in no time flat. Take advantage of beautiful summer sunsets (or sunrises, if you’re an early riser). You will 100% love the outcome of those beautiful sun-drenched shots.
3. Make the most of your tan. Sure, you can go to a spray tan booth (ex nay on the tanning beds, please), but nothing looks as natural as a beautiful bronze glow from summertime. Those sun-kissed highlights don’t hurt either!
4. You’re totally chill. Okay, mostly chill (I know college selection time and summer jobs can up the ante a little). But, you’re not deep into school work, exams, all-nighters, and non-stop sports. Use this time have your senior pictures taken this summer while you look (and feel) rested and ready for the fun to come!
5. Embrace that wardrobe. When the weather is gorgeous and warm, you have SO MANY clothing options. Short sleeves, tanks, maxi dresses, short dresses, shorts, jeweled sandals and alllll the accessories.
