A Different Kind of Christmas Mini Session
There is something about Christmas at home that I absolutely love.
The tree in the corner. The ornaments your kids insist on hanging all in the same spot. Christmas pajamas. Cookies in the kitchen. Snuggling together on the couch. The little traditions your family does every single year without really thinking about them.
Those are the Christmas memories I want to photograph.
Instead of offering traditional Christmas mini sessions with a styled set or backdrop, I offer Holiday at Home Mini Sessions for families throughout Williamsburg and the surrounding area.
These sessions take place right in your own home and are all about capturing your family during the holiday season as you really are.

What is a Holiday at Home session?
Think less posing and more doing.
Your session can include your family decorating the Christmas tree, hanging favorite ornaments, baking cookies, making hot chocolate, reading Christmas books together, cuddling on the couch, or letting the kids jump into their Christmas pajamas.
And your home doesn’t need to look like it belongs in a Christmas magazine.
That’s not the point.
I want to capture the little things that make Christmas at your house feel like Christmas.
Years from now, I think those details will mean just as much as the photographs of everyone smiling at the camera.

You don’t have to decorate yet to reserve your session
This year, I’m opening Holiday at Home inquiries earlier.
Normally, I wait until November when most families have started decorating. But by then, November and December calendars are already filling up with school events, sports, parties, travel, family gatherings and everything else that comes with the holiday season.
So this year, you can reach out before your decorations are up.
If you already have an idea of when you’ll put your tree up, we can start looking at dates for your session now.
But what if my kids are in school?
I know this is one of the trickiest parts of scheduling holiday photos, especially for families with school-age children.
That’s why I’m keeping these sessions flexible rather than publishing a calendar of predetermined session dates.
When you inquire, let me know what days and times generally work for your family. I’ll have some after-school availability as well as a limited number of weekend appointments throughout November and December.
If you know your family will need a weekend, I recommend reaching out earlier since my weekend availability is much more limited.

What could we do during our session?
This is where you get to make the session your own.
You might:
- Decorate the Christmas tree together
- Hang special ornaments
- Bake or decorate Christmas cookies
- Make hot chocolate
- Wear your favorite Christmas pajamas
- Read a Christmas story with the kids
- Snuggle together on the couch
- Let the kids show me their favorite decorations
- Include your pets in the fun
- Or simply spend some time together in your Christmas-decorated home
You don’t need to plan ten different activities. A couple of simple things your family enjoys doing together are plenty.
The goal isn’t to create a perfect Christmas.
It’s to photograph your Christmas.

Christmas changes faster than we realize
One year they’re barely tall enough to reach the bottom branches.
A few Christmases later, they’re the ones helping you put the star on top.
That’s what I love about photographing families at home. We’re not only documenting what everyone looked like that year. We’re preserving a little piece of what life felt like, too.
And someday, the photographs of your kids decorating the tree in the house they grew up in may be some of the ones you treasure most.
